Meet Dr Carolina Cortez
Dr. Carolina Cortez
Passionate and committed treating each patient as if they are family, Dr. Carolina Cortez provides the highest level of care possible for clients of all ages. Dr. Cortez moved to the United States from Colombia at the age of 16 years, and worked diligently to gain citizenship in order to study and work in this great country. Once obtaining this goal, Dr. Cortez began her academic studies where she completed her undergraduate degree in Biology; followed by her Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences; and then her Doctorate in Dentistry degree all at Nova SouthEastern University in Florida.
Upon completion of her studies in 2011, Dr. Cortez provided care in General Dentistry in Florida from 2011 to 2013. Her calm demeanor and ability to bond with her patients allowed her to help people with complex dental conditions that required organized and detailed care. Her empathy, sensitivity, and well honed manual skills allowed her to become a favorite in the clinic where she worked, and earned her patients love and trust day by day; which she states is the most rewarding experience.
After caring for patients in private practice for two years, Dr. Cortez made the decision to give back to this great country and served in the United States Military stationed in Bavaria, Germany as a Dental Officer in the Army Dental Core from January of 2013 through July of 2015. During her time here, Dr. Cortez also volunteered with the American Red Cross in Germany to train family members of military personnel to become dental assistants.
Dr. Cortez also has a strong commitment to lifelong professional education and training within the industry. Thus, she participated in the Infection Control Manager and Train the Trainer in Patient Safety courses offered through the U.S. Department of Defense.
Since honorable discharge from the United States Army, Dr. Carolina Cortez has returned to Florida to build her practice within the community that she loves. She has completed her Dental Implant training from “Alabama Implant Educators” at Burmingham Alabama, is participating in continuing education at the “Atlantic Coast Dental Research Program” in Palm Beach Florida, and with “Implant Educators” in Davie Florida. Dr. Carolina Cortez has acquired her “Invisalign” Certification to help her patients with orthodontic needs. She is presently enrolled in the “Phelan Dental Seminars” for complex occlusion rehabilitations. Dr. Cortez is also certified in Botox application and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP).
